Welcome to the Website of Moriel Ministries and the teaching ministry of Jacob Prasch and Friends.
This site is designed to be user-friendly and to provide as much information as possible on a various range of subjects to the discerning Christian. We encourage you to explore our site and we also hope you will be challenged in your Christian walk.
It is the hope of Moriel that this new site will be the best, most edifying and informative experience you have had with us yet.
The Abortion Law Reform Bill passed the Victorian Legislative Assembly (lower house) on 11 September, 49 votes to 32, with six MPs abstaining.
The good news is that the Bill is now in the upper house (Legislative Council) where the numbers are line-ball. The debate begins on 7 October. The vote could occur soon after.
Letters or emails to your five upper house MPs could decide whether this dangerous legislation passes or fails. MPs do take notice of the views of people in their electorate. They want their votes at the next election!
All you need to send are five simple, polite emails, personally addressed and including your full name and details.

Medicare Funding Abortions
Did you know that Medicare funds second trimester and late term abortions?
During July, Senator Guy Barnett presented a motion to the Senate to disallow Medicare funding of second trimester and late term abortions. He has been supported by Senator Julian McGauran.
Senator Barnett's 'Motion of Disallowance of Medicare Funding for Second Trimester and Late term Abortions' is due for vote and discussion on Wednesday 17 September 2008.
You can support Senator Barnett by collecting signatures for his petition AND asking Senators to SUPPORT his motion.

Jacob Prasch & Moriel request prayer for two of our orphan children in our children's homes in Africa.
We are just writing to ask you to pray on behalf of our friends Allen and Sue Well's who run a ministry, called Bezaleel which provides a home for 11 children which are all home schooled by Sue. Bezaleel is not an orphanage but a family with Allen and Sue being the parents. This ministry is under Moriel.
Recently one of the children, Themba, developed a lump on his neck which grew very large. The family pediatric doctor has identified it as a form of TB, (as he believes the signs are obvious,) where there is a primary infection in his lung, with the lump being classed as a secondary infection. The doctor has drained it but within a day Themba's lump was back and if it bursts it will create a sinus cavity which will permanently seep and be prone to infection. The doctor already put Themba on TB medication which Sue is hoping will kick in soon.
At Ebyown we are concerned for Prudence. There has been a ongoing decline in CD4 count and increase in her viral load in the last few months. Test have now told us that she has become highly resistant to her ARV's. The next let of ARV's she is due are for adults and while Pru is growing her body is not yet at this stage and giving them to her will cause adverse side affects. Basically we are just trying to put off giving them her for as long as possible so that we give her body time to grow. This may take a year or two meanwhile we hope and pray that somehow he body will keep the virus in check un till she is physically ready.
We also request prayer for Joseph Jones, a young boy whose parents lead a Moriel affiliated fellowship in England near Birmingham in Walsall. Joseph suffers serious epilepsy and his latest medical exam and MRI scan indicate a serious deterioration. Please keep Joseph and his family in prayer.
Pastor George, his wife, and family in Madurai, India - Mother-in-law & father-in-law in India were beaten with iron rods. Mother-in-law has passed away.

Place: Ebyown Childrens Village, South Africa. The village has now become a registered childrens home with a real sense of family and not institution. We aim to provide a loving team environment centred on Christ and are developing our skills base as we grow.
Job description: The nursing care of special needs children. Administration of medicines. Recording of medical information. Maintaining all aspects of first aid. The training of care staff on an ongoing basis. The counseling of patients in a wide variety of health situations. Ordering of medical supplies and equipment. Coordinating medical appointments for children.
A British standard nursing qualification is recognised in South Africa.
We can offer: Return air ticket, accomadation, food and many other benefits.
Time Period: Must be able to give a minumum of one year

Professor Israeli's Muslim Immigration Comment Causes Furor
Last week Professor Raphael Israeli made some comments about Muslim immigration, in particular what was happening in Europe, that were reported in The Age.
The Age reported... "When the Muslim population gets to a critical mass you have problems. That is a general rule, so if it applies everywhere it applies in Australia," he said."
He is a professor from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem who is currently in Australia teaching a six week course in 'Understanding Islam' at the Shalom Institute in NSW.
After being deserted by Jewish leaders he responded by saying they submitted to the Muslims.... His response is posted on 'Dhimmi Watch'! That says it all!
The fallout?
Muslim leaders - such as Waleed Aly - complained about his comments.
Jewish leaders distanced themselves from his comments and cancelled his lecture tour!
Professor Israeli responded - saying "the dhimmi-like Jewish leadership cancelled all activities, in a shameful submission to the Muslim thugs and under the false claims of a "multi-cultural society" in Australia, which they know is not true. ..."
Raphael Israeli is a Professor of Islamic, Middle Eastern and Chinese history at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Professor Israeli is the author of 15 books and some 80 scholarly articles in those domains.
